Dr. Burlingham is the Pre-Health Professions advisor at Mount Union College.  By teaching organic chemistry, he has the opportunity to meet almost all pre-health professions advisees as an instructor.  He is a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions and the Central Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.

Role of the Pre-Health Professions Advisor

The Pre-Health Professions Advisor will help you in a number of ways as you prepare for application to professional school.    In your first two years at MUC, the Advisor will inform you of the opportunities and requirements of specific health professions.  As a first year or sophomore student, you should give the Advisor your contact information so that you can hear about health professions programs being offered on the campus.  This will also help the Advisor contact you with information that will keep you on track to be a successful professional school applicant.

In the junior and senior year, the advisor will meet with you personally to help you through the specific application processes you are undertaking.  With the help of the Pre-Health Professions Committee, the Advisor will offer recommendations for your application to graduate schools in the health professions.
