Each Student will sign up for a 5 minute appointment with the instructor for sight-reading testing purposes.

Do not waste the instructor's time. Arrive on time for your appointments and be prepared.

Individuals Grading

You will have five minutes. Do not waste time. Come in ready to sing. Exams can not be completed past the five minute limit.

Typical individual components
Although sight singing evaluation requires a degree of subjective evaluation the instructor follows the guidelines below as a general rule.

Rhythm & Melodic Singing
Grading for these compenents are someehat subjective, but points are scored on the basis of:

Pitch accuracy & intonation
Rhythmic accuracy & pulse steadiness
Solfege

Interval Singing Grading

Correct the first time A to B- (depending on intonation)
Correct second time C+ to D
There is no third opportunity (F)

Grade Calculation

Each cpomponent of the exam is worth 11 points
Most individuals contain 3 sections for 33 toal points
