Stephanie Barille Wins Award

MUC's own Pi Mu Epsilon President Stephanie Barille received a Pi Mu Epsilon Student Presentation Award at the national MathFest in Rhode Island as having one of the seven best student presentations at the conference. Stephanie's talk, called "Catch the Wave", was on the theory and application of wavelets. The award, which includes $150, was presented to Stephanie at the August 2004 conference.

Initiation Ceremony Held

The 2004 Pi Mu Epsilon initiation ceremony was held on Thursday, April 14, at 7:00 PM in the Main Lounge of the HPCC. Mr. Lynn Molen, Mathematics Teacher at Minerva Middle School, gave the address on "The Mathematics Teacher".
