to the Biology Department home page! The Department of
Biology seeks to provide students with an
understanding
of life as a process and science as an active and creative
endeavor.
Our students gain an appreciation of their relationships to the living
world.
Nearly all of our courses include extensive laboratory experiences.
Each
Biology major engages in intensive independent research as part of our Senior
Culminating Experience program. Our flexible curriculum
allows
students to prepare for graduate work in the biological sciences, or
professional
work in medical arts, or allied health professions. Students in the
Biology
Department can pursue majors or minors in Biology and Environmental
Biology.
