Study of deformation associated with thrust sheet emplacement during mountain building.

Development of  methods for measuring finite strain, with emphasis on computerized methods.

Study of  the relationship between deformation and metamorphism, particularly the origin of solution cleavage.

Monitoring of seismic activity in northeast Ohio.
