Analytical Mechanics

Goals:

  • To be able to describe major physical principles associated with analytical (classical) mechanics
  • To be able to assess a physical situation and recognize the relevant physical laws or principles
  • To be able to apply those principles to the situation by setting up a mathematical model
  • To be able to solve the mathematical model using analytical and numerical methods
