Triplet

Triplets notation allows a composer to divide a beat into three parts.

The "3" in the triplet bracket directs the player to play 3 notes in the time of 2.

Eighth-notes The quarter note is divided into two parts

Triplet eighth-notes The quarter note is divided into three parts.
