I grew up in Dayton, Ohio. My father is a retired Art Professor at University of Dayton; my mother is a retired registrar at United Theological Seminary. My parents divorced when I was ten, and both re-married when I was 16. My stepfather is the retired Dean and Vice President at United Theological Seminary, and my stepmother is a retired child psychologist.
My wife, Jennifer, is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, and she is currently the pastor at City Hope Church. We have a wonderful son, Samuel, and an amazing daughter, Lydia
I did my B.A. at Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. My M.A. and Ph.D. were both completed at Ohio State University. (I'm an Ohio boy through and through!)
I joined the faculty at Mount Union College in 1993, and I spent the 2001-02 academic year as the Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the College.
